Jane Bryant receives a Mayor of Winchester Community Award 2024

A Northington resident for many years, Jane Bryant was recently nominated for and received a Mayor of Winchester Community Award 2024, presented to her by the mayor, Cllr Angela Clear, on 7th March. Her nomination was due to her extensive voluntary work, which encompasses the arts, music and heritage roles and included the fundraising, overseeing and management of key aspects of the St John’s Heritage and Organ Restoration Projects with their adult and children’s community education programmes. She also Chairs the very successful Winchester Poetry Festival and is committed to choral participation, directing, amongst others, the Candover Valley Choir. Jane said much of this was about working with wonderful teams of people each of whom did an extraordinary amount of work. She also felt a huge sense of humility in hearing abut the exceptional work other awardees were all doing to reach and support those often in very challenging circumstances.
