Vox Lucis - with Lutenist, Sam Brown - present ‘Renaissance Masterpieces’: a concert of motets and songs

In what is to be the final formal concert of the very varied series of events in St John’s Church, Northington, as part of the education and community programme associated with the Organ Restoration and Conservation project, Vox Lucis, in conjunction with renowned lutenist, Sam Brown, will present works by some of the most influential composers of the 15th and 16th centuries, including Josquin, Tallis, Byrd, and Dowland.

Vox Lucis is a regular visiting choir to St John’s. Their previous concert in November 2022 acted as the very first concert of the series and launched the overall Organ Project. They also joined the Candover Valley Choir in September 2023 to sing, amongst other pieces, Vivaldi’s Gloria.

We are very fortunate indeed to welcome Vox Lucis back to St John’s, this time joined by lute player, Sam Brown.

The concert will last for just over one hour. Do stay afterwards and join us for light refreshments.

Tickets (cash or cheque on the door): £10 adults; Under 18s free

(St John’s is accessible for wheelchairs; it has good parking and modest toilet facilities)
